Buying this dress will make me a more beautiful and interesting person

You buy things as a source of external happiness and are afraid of what will happen if you let go of those things. This is a lack of confidence that you’ll be OK with nothing but yourself.

I catch myself doing this / trying to do this all the time….

“If I buy this dress, I will be a more beautiful and interesting person.”

Nope. Not really.

Even last week, I bought a new blouse and now I’m questioning my motives:

Did I really believe I needed that new top so I wouldn’t have to do laundry as often?

How ‘bout you — tell me in the comments below…

Do you find yourself doing this?

Maybe just a little bit…?

Are you using shopping as a way to buy happiness, confidence, or self-worth?

Let’s see that hand in the air! ;)
