Losing a great friend 🌸🌼🌺 and loving bravely

This is a tough thing to share today, but it’s important.

I lost one of my best friends to metastatic breast cancer last month.

She was the most beautiful soul.

So fun.

She had THE WORST sense of humor...

Seriously — the WORST! ❤️

She was 'punny-funny'... like an old man—which only added to her charm. She was hilarious and adorable.

She was always loving, generous, up-for-anything (even the Journey / Def Leppard concert a few years ago) and she made everyone she knew feel special.

You know those rare people who ask you how you're doing and then they actually look you in the eye, wait, and listen to your answer...?

That was Alisa!

And she had the best smile!
I've posted a pic above - I think you'll guess which is her and which is me. Me: 🤪

I'm telling you all this for two (2) reasons:

1)) If you ever feel a lump anywhere on your body, do NOT ignore it.

Go to your doctor. If your doctor dismisses your worries and tells you it's nothing...

  • be brave,

  • advocate for yourself, and

  • get a second opinion.

- and -

2)) Call the people you love often.

Let them know you love (or appreciate) them, in actions or in words.

Don't let another day go by thinking, "I should call so-n-so."

Just call them already!

My friend Alisa said she had so many great friends because she took the time to 'water the flowers' — we (her friends) being the flowers. 🌸🌼🌺

HOMEWORK TIME...!

Think of one person you wish you reached out to more often.

Then...

Reach out to them now!!

Love bravely!
