Money clutter =

Anything money-related that feels unfinished, unresolved, messy, or complicated.

I just found this photo in my phone from 3 months ago. I flew to a conference and paid extra for WiFi but it was never available.

So I took this screen shot to send them to ask for a refund. Then, I forgot.

Do you have any money owed to you?

  • Write down every company or person who owes you money.

  • Write the amount they owe you.

  • Then, contact each of those companies and/or people to get paid.

I once had a graphic design client (when I first started freelancing back in 2007) who didn’t pay me for 1-1/2 years. It was only $350. But I kept at him and he finally paid. I think he was just disorganized and kept forgetting.

So, assume the best intentions of these companies and people, and simply ask for what is owed to you.

On the flip side...

If you feel icky because you know you owe someone money and it’s been “too long”—reach out and make steps to repay them.

Clearing money clutter (on both sides) will make room for more.

Go on. You can do this.

You can do uncomfortable things.
