How my healthy obsession with hyacinths makes me more productive

I have a recent obsession with hyacinths.
No, I’m not a 90-year-old lady! Though, you’d think so, wouldn’t you?

They’re so great!

  • They smell so sweet and rich.

  • They’re only $6 at my local grocery store.

  • And they change the energy of my home office.

Flowers change the energy in your home or office

Having flowers increases the vibration in your environment.

Translation for those with no “woo” in you —

Having flowers in your home or office increases your energy *and* makes you feel better.

Working late doesn’t feel so bad or stressful when you take a quick break and your eyes settle on a happy bouquet of bright yellow & orange Gerber daisies.

Or tulips.

Or roses.

Or carnations.

Or, mmm, another favorite: a bunch of eucalyptus!

Adding beauty to your rooms and connecting to nature has a calming effect on your psyche, especially when you’re required to be indoors behind a computer most of your days making a living.

And having flowers in your environment is a small act of... oh, I hate using this phrase… self-care. Ugh, yes I said it — it’s self-care.

It’s telling yourself that YOU ARE WORTH IT!

Hello, it’s $6.

You’re worth $6.

You’re worth WAY MORE than $6.

I’m just sayin’… because I don’t think you’ve been buying flowers for yourself.

Why not?

It can’t be the money, because… hello, did I mention $6?

Try it for one month.

Buy yourself flowers every Monday. Or every Saturday. Whatever works.

Watch how it changes you.

A note about flower colors:

  • Bright yellows, oranges, and pinks increase mood, energy, and focus

  • Blues, purples, and lavenders promote calm, peace, and relaxation

  • White flowers increase productivity and creative flow

Now, go buy some flowers!
